Embark on a breathtaking 3D/2N journey through Mount Rinjani’s most iconic landscapes — from the grasslands of Sembalun to the crater rim, where you’ll camp under the stars and watch the sun rise from the summit. Hike down to the stunning Lake Segara Anak, relax in natural hot springs, and spend a night by the water. The adventure continues through the lush Torean Valley, with waterfalls, jungle paths, and epic views at every turn — a true immersion into the wild beauty of Lombok. This hike is suited for experienced and average hikers.

  • One-night stay at a hotel in Senaru before the trek
  • The trek starts at 07:00 AM sharp. Don’t be late — the mountain won’t wait!

  • Visit and learn about the village of Senaru and its traditions
  • Visit to Sendang Gile and Tiu Kelep Waterfalls (before sunset)
  • Camp under the stars at the Sembalun Crater Rim

  • Easier final descent, good for those who prefer a gentler exit after lake camping

⚠️ Important Info

  • Please do come the day before the trek starts and spend the night in Senaru to make sure you are fully prepared and to avoid any delays! Arriving on the starting day might add unnecessary pressure. Exceptions can be made if you don’t have much time on Lombok though.
  • Children under 15 years old are not allowed to join this trip.
  • Transportation to Senaru is not included, but we can help you arrange it from anywhere in Lombok.
  • It’s cold at the top, especially before sunrise — bring a jacket!
  • Good hiking shoes are a must.
  • Transport after the trek is not included, but of course, we’re happy to help you book it!

Trekking Itinerary

Day 0 — Trek Prep

  • Upon arrival in Lombok (airport or any port), we’ll pick you up and take you to your accommodation in Senaru. Meet your guide and porters, enjoy a welcome drink, and get a full trekking briefing. If time allows (before sunset), we’ll take you to explore the famous Sendang Gile and Tiu Kelep waterfalls.
  • ⚠️ Please do come the day before the trek starts and spend the night in Senaru to make sure you are fully prepared and to avoid any delays! Arriving on the starting day might add unnecessary pressure. 

Day 1 — Reaching the crater…

  • 06:00 am — Wake up and breakfast at the accommodation
  • 07:00 am — Drive to Sembalun Village (approx. 45 minutes)
  • 08:00 am — Check-in at the Rinjani National Park office
  • 08:30 am — Begin trekking through open grasslands and savanna
  • 12:00 pm — Lunch break at Pos 2 (Tengengean 1500 MASL)
  • 02:00 pm — Continue to Pos 3 & 4 (Pada Balong and Cemara Siu)
  • 05:00 pm — Arrive and camp at Sembalun Crater Rim (2639 MASL). There, enjoy a freshly cooked dinner while taking in the stunning sunset. Time to rest for the early morning summit attack. 

Day 2 — … And the summit

  • 02:00 am — Wake up, enjoy light breakfast
  • 02:15 am — Start summit climb (approx. 3 hours)
  • 05:30 am — Reach the summit and enjoy the sunrise
  • 07:00 am — Return to crater rim, full breakfast and short rest
  • 09:30 am — Descend to Sembalun village
  • 12:30 pm — Lunch stop at Pos 2
  • 03:00 pm — Finish at Sembalun starting point
  • 04:00 pm — Transfer to Senaru (shower & relax), then continue to your next destination
